All government Zimbabwean health facilities will provide you with free health services at any age. Some even have a corner staffed by trained youth volunteers, so start there if you spot one. They will send you to the right department within the health facility.
Youth corner or not, all health facilities are there to help you with any health issue. All your visits are treated confidentially.
Where you can get help
- Start nearby by finding a youth service organisation in your area such as PSI, PSZ, New Start Centre, ZNFPC, or government local clinic or hospital. For sexually transmitted infections including HIV – visit any government health facility across Zimbabwe and where you will get free information, counselling, testing and treatment.
- If you want information or are concerned about with your sexual health, contraception, Emergency Contraception, or medical male circumcision you can visit a PSZ Clinic, any clinic nearest to you, Child Line, ZNFPC, New Start Centre, or any health facility near you. For issues of rape or abuse start at a Victim Friendly Unit at any police station, or go to any government health facility for free help including Emergency Contraception, antibiotics to prevent some STIs, and HIV test and post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to reduce the risk of being infected with HIV as a result of rape.
Don’t worry in silence. Most health problems can be fixed if you get to a health facility and speak to a doctor or nurse. The staff will keep your problems confidential and help you get treatment.
